Privacy and Cookies

A single, site-wide statement.

GSV runs the lightest data posture compatible with operating a professional advisory site and a hospitality booking enquiry.

Last updated: 10 June 2026

Section 1. Who is responsible for your data

This site, gulfsv.com, is operated by the GSV group and serves three businesses.

Board and Governance Advisory, and all professional, media, speaking, and partnership enquiries, are handled by GSV Board and Governance Advisory Governance 4point0 L.L.C.-S.P.C., registered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (Commercial Licence No. CN-6473137, Unified Registration No. 101-2026-200099548).

L'Escapade holiday-rental stays are handled by Gulf Spirit and Vibes GSV Vacation Home Rental L.L.C S.P.C, registered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (Commercial Licence No. CN-4953789, Commercial Registry No. 5969888, Holiday Home Permit No. PER25000479).

For any question about how your data is handled, write to Lola@gulfsv.com.

Section 2. What we collect

The site collects three things, and only these three.

First, a record of your cookie choice. When you first arrive, the site asks whether you consent to analytics cookies. Your answer is stored in your browser so that the site does not ask again. No analytics cookies are set unless and until you accept.

Second, anything you send us through an enquiry form. On the governance enquiry page the fields are your name, organisation, role, email, and your note. On the L'Escapade enquiry page the fields are your name, email, your dates, the number of guests, and your message. These are transmitted over TLS to the site's hosting provider, Netlify, and stored, encrypted at rest, in the form submissions area of the GSV Netlify account, accessible only to Lola. Submissions are processed on the legal basis of a legitimate professional or booking enquiry. GSV does not export, sell, license, or share the data with any third party.

Third, if you accept analytics, anonymised usage data through Google Analytics 4, described in Section 5.

If you reach us directly by email, WhatsApp, telephone, LinkedIn, or in person, we process that correspondence under the same posture.

Section 3. How we use it

We use the contact data you provide to respond to your enquiry, to manage any stay or engagement that follows, and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including the guest-registration requirements that apply to a licensed holiday home in Abu Dhabi.

We use analytics data, where you have consented, only to understand in aggregate how the site is used and to improve it. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not combine it with your enquiry data.

We do not sell, share, license, or otherwise commercialise your data. If GSV publishes a newsletter or regulatory note in future, you will be invited to subscribe only if you choose to. Making an enquiry does not opt you in to anything.

Section 4. Cookies and how consent works

When you first visit, no analytics cookies are set. Google Consent Mode is set to denied by default, so Google's tags load in a state that stores nothing on your device until you choose.

You are shown a short banner with two clear options, Accept and Reject. If you accept, analytics cookies are set and consent is upgraded to granted. If you reject, or simply continue without accepting, no analytics cookies are ever set. Your choice is remembered for twelve months, after which the banner reappears. You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.

Cookie Set by Purpose Set only after consent Duration
gsv.consent.v1 GSV (functional) Records your cookie choice so the banner does not reappear No, this is strictly necessary 12 months
_ga Google Analytics 4 Distinguishes one visitor from another, in aggregate Yes 2 years
_ga_GTFW7LGFN3 Google Analytics 4 Maintains analytics session state Yes 2 years

The functional record gsv.consent.v1 is strictly necessary to honour your choice and does not require consent under UK PECR. The two analytics cookies are set only if you accept.

The site places no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking of any other kind.

Section 5. Third parties

The site is hosted on Netlify. The hosting provider receives standard request logs (IP address, request path, timestamp, user agent) for the purpose of serving the site and handling security, and stores enquiry submissions on GSV's behalf, encrypted at rest. GSV does not analyse hosting logs and does not export them.

Google Analytics 4 is used for aggregate site analytics, and only where you have consented. Google acts as a processor on GSV's behalf. IP addresses are not stored by GA4. The data Google receives is governed by Google's own privacy terms.

Calendly is used to schedule initial conversations on the governance enquiry page only. Calendly is a third-party processor and its script loads only when you reach that page. No Calendly script loads anywhere else on the site. The data you enter into Calendly is governed by Calendly's privacy notice.

If you choose to book through Airbnb or Booking.com, those platforms operate their own bookings, terms, and privacy notices. Once you leave this site for those platforms, you are subject to their data posture, not ours.

Outbound links from this site to LinkedIn, regulator websites, or third-party publications carry no tracking. You are subject to the privacy posture of those sites once you arrive there.

Section 6. Where your data is held and transferred

Your data is held in the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom, and with the processors named above, which may store data in other jurisdictions. Where data is transferred internationally, GSV relies on the appropriate safeguards under UK GDPR and the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).

Section 7. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR, the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), and equivalent regimes, you have the right to access, correct, restrict the processing of, and delete the personal data GSV holds about you, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority. In the United Kingdom that authority is the Information Commissioner's Office; in the United Arab Emirates it is the UAE Data Office. To exercise any of these rights, write to Lola@gulfsv.com.

Section 8. Changes to this notice

This notice is reviewed on each material change to the site. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
